Please read the Diocesan Sacrament Guidelines below if you need to sign up your child for First Reconciliation/First Communion sacramental preparation classes.

1. "The child is expected to have participated in parish faith formation or Catholic school religious education classes for at least one year before he/she begins the direct preparation for the Sacrament of Penance and the Sacrament of Eucharist."

2. "The child is expected to have been previously involved in the liturgical life of the parish faith community by regular attendance at Sunday Eucharist with his/her parents/guardians."

Photographs and Videos (2026-2027)



Unless otherwise stated in writing, parents/guardians grant permission to St. Augustine, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, & St. Mary of the Assumption to use photographs or video recordings of their child for inclusion in diocesan, parish, school, agency, or ministry publications, websites, social media, and other promotional materials.




Parents or guardians who do not wish for their child to be photographed or recorded must provide written notice to the director, coordinator, or other responsible adult in charge on an annual basis (July 1 through June 30).


Please note that the Diocese, parishes, schools, agencies, and ministries cannot control the use of photographs or videos taken by private individuals or media representatives during any diocesan, parish, school, agency, or ministry event in which their child participates.


Identifying information




For the personal safety of children, the Diocese of Syracuse does not allow any identifying information of a child in grades 8 or below to be published in diocesan, parish, school, or organization publications, websites, or social media sites. 



The Diocese permits the publication of identifying information for youth in grades 9 and up in diocesan, parish, school, agency, or ministry publications and/or websites/social media sites. Parents/guardians who do not wish for their child in grades 9 and up to be identified in any photographs or recordings must provide written notice to the director, coordinator, or other responsible adult in charge.
